Rona’s Story – Living Well With Sickle Cell
- by Editor
Rona was diagnosed with sickle cell disease as an infant and has been receiving blood transfusions for over 25 years. Every 4 weeks, she receives 8 units of life-transforming blood. She thanks the generous blood donors for continuing to donate blood to enable her to live a better life.
Rona is also a blood drive coordinator and consistently spreads awareness of the importance of blood donations for those living with sickle cell disease to help these patients have a better quality of life.
Donate blood in honor of Rona and the 100,000 people in the U.S. living with sickle cell disease. Learn more about how you can help sickle cell patients: vitalant.org/sickle-cell
